Losing all or most of your teeth affects far more than appearance. It changes what you can eat, how you speak, and over time causes the jawbone to shrink, altering the shape of your face. Full mouth dental implants address all of this because they replace the root as well as the visible tooth, preserving the bone beneath and restoring full function permanently.
At Purley Dental Care, we place full mouth implants for patients across Purley, Croydon, Coulsdon, Wallington and South Surrey. Every case is assessed using our in-house CBCT scanner before any treatment begins, giving us a level of precision in planning that practices without this technology cannot match.
Full mouth dental implants replace all the teeth in the upper arch, lower arch, or both, with a fixed set of implant-supported teeth. Between four and six titanium implants are placed per arch, acting as secure roots for a custom-made full arch bridge or prosthesis. The result is permanent, non-removable and indistinguishable from natural teeth.

Unlike removable dentures, full mouth implants do not move, do not require adhesive, and actively preserve the bone beneath through the same stimulation as natural tooth roots.
Placing four to six implants across an entire jaw requires precise knowledge of bone depth, nerve pathways and sinus proximity at every potential site. A standard X-ray cannot provide this reliably.
Our in-house CBCT (Cone Beam Computed Tomography) scanner produces a detailed 3D image of your jaw, teeth, sinuses and nerve pathways before any treatment is planned, showing us exact bone depth and width at every implant site, nerve positions, sinus proximity and whether bone grafting is needed.
Having this scanner in-house means no referrals, results the same day, and your treating clinician reviewing the scan directly. Not every practice in the Purley and Croydon area has this capability on site.

All full mouth implant surgery is led by Dr. Fayaz Rashid, one of the very few clinicians in the UK to hold dual Master’s degrees in both Implantology (University of Bristol) and Restorative Dentistry (University of Manchester). His surgical training includes a Master Course in Complex Bone Grafting with Dr. Istvan Urban, SAAD IV sedation certification and the Straumann Implant Course. Every procedure is performed at 5x magnification using dental loupes.

Dr. Parag brings a Master’s degree in Periodontology and over 15 years of experience as a general dentist, implantologist and periodontist. Healthy gums are the foundation on which successful implants depend, and his specialist periodontal knowledge is a significant clinical asset in full mouth implant cases where gum health must be carefully managed throughout treatment.

Implant placement is carried out under local anaesthetic. You will feel pressure during the procedure but not pain. Some soreness and swelling in the days following surgery is normal and manageable with over-the-counter painkillers. IV sedation is available for patients who are anxious about surgery.
Bone loss is very common in patients who have been missing teeth for some time. In many cases it can be addressed with bone grafting before or at the time of implant placement. Our CBCT scanner tells us exactly how much bone is present at every potential implant site, so we can plan any preparatory work precisely rather than estimating. All-on-4 treatment is also specifically designed to work with reduced bone volume by angling the rear implants.
Full mouth implants are maintained in the same way as natural teeth: brushing twice daily, flossing or using interdental brushes around the implant sites, and attending regular hygiene appointments. We provide full aftercare guidance and our hygiene team supports long-term implant health.
